SpectroDynamics 2026 CECAM Flagship School

On behalf ot the organizers, the SDG would like to advertise the SpectroDynamics 2026 CECAM Flagship School, a five‑day in‑person program that will be held 7 – 11 September 2026 at the CECAM headquarters on the EPFL campus in Lausanne, Switzerland.

In short, our school aims to bridge computational‑spectroscopy approaches across the electromagnetic spectrum, from IR/THz to X‑ray. Communities working at different wavelengths often rely on distinct approximations, target different observables, and use separate numerical implementations. Our goal is to connect these methods back to their common starting point: a light–matter Hamiltonian that includes the quantum description of electronic, nuclear, and photonic degrees of freedom. From this unified framework we will explore how the various approximations introduced at different stages lead to the distinct theoretical approaches adopted in each field.

For more information, please visit the school webpageConfirmed Speakers Shaul Mukamel, Tom Markland, Marie-Pierre Gaigeot, Peter Hamm, Minhaeng Cho, Hardy Gross, Irene Burghardt, Carlos Bustamante, Stefano Cavaletto, Norah Hoffmann, Michael Ruggenthaler, and Jiri Vanicek. We would be delighted to welcome applications from students in your research group. Due to generous funding from Psi-k and the Journal of Chemical Physics we can offer travel grants for attendees who may face financial or structural barriers. If you know a student who is particularly well‑suited, please feel free to recommend them to us.

The organizers: Yair Litman, Daniel Keefer Franco Bonafé
